How an Event Venue Got a 15-Foot Video Wall, Full PA, Silent Disco, and One-Button Automation — and Stopped Calling AV Vendors for Every Event

The Challenge

An event venue in the Sacramento area was running every event with rented AV equipment and outside vendors. A corporate seminar meant one vendor. A DJ night meant another. A private dinner with wireless mics meant a third call and another setup fee.
The venue’s owner wanted a permanently installed system that staff could operate without technical help — one that could handle the full range of event types the venue books, from 20-person corporate lunches to 200-person DJ events. The ask was specific: one button per event type, and the room configures itself.

We designed the system around the automation requirement first and worked backwards to the hardware.
The centerpiece is a 6-panel commercial video wall spanning 15 feet, calibrated for consistent brightness and color across all panels. A wall controller lets staff switch between a unified full-wall display and independently zoned screens — different content on different panels simultaneously — without any technical knowledge.
The sound system has two layers: distributed ceiling speakers for background audio zoned by area, and a permanently installed PA for amplified events. Wireless mics cover handheld, lavalier, and headset configurations. Silent disco transmitters connect to the main mix output and run two independent audio channels simultaneously, with receivers stored on-site.
Smart HVAC integration ties climate control into the event scene system — the venue adjusts temperature for expected occupancy automatically when a scene is activated. Security lighting was integrated with the camera system on the same UniFi network.
Scene-based automation ties everything together: Corporate Seminar, DJ Night, Private Dinner, and Hybrid Event are each a single button press. Each scene configures displays, audio levels, HVAC, and lighting in under 10 seconds.
The Result
The Outcome
The venue eliminated outside AV vendors for standard events entirely. Staff operates the full system — video wall, PA, wireless mics, silent disco, and HVAC — from a single wall panel. Events that previously required a setup call and a $500 vendor fee now take 10 seconds.
Silent disco has become an unexpected revenue driver — clients who couldn’t hold amplified events due to noise restrictions at their preferred venue now book here specifically for that capability.
The hybrid event configuration — which combines the PA, wireless mics, and Zoom Room-style camera and audio — has opened a new booking category the venue hadn’t previously been able to offer.
